Jacquard Fabrics

Jacquard fabrics are fabrics with unprinted relief patterns, achieved by crossing threads. The term Brocard is applied to Jacquard weaves in which the patterns have metallic shades, with a more sumptuous result. The inventor of this weaving technique, which dates from 1805, is Joseph Marie Jacquard.
