HOW MANY METERS OF FABRIC DO I NEED?
DETAILS
Chester Campero fabric is a classic, hard-wearing fabric widely used in the manufacture of regional costumes and traditional clothing. It is a striped jacquard with a vertical stripe design in elegant shades of grey, which lend it a sober, deep and timelessly authentic finish.
Thanks to its composition of 70% viscose and 30% polyester, it combines a pleasant drape with high resistance to wear. With a width of 150 cm, it allows for optimal use of the fabric in clothing projects. It is a fabric with body, stable and low elasticity, ideal for maintaining the structure of garments such as country vests, jackets, trousers and skirts.
Suggested uses: waistcoats and country jackets with structure and controlled drape, traditional or tailored trousers, skirts with good drape and regional clothing details such as facings, yokes or appliqués for a classic and elegant style.
Sewing tips: align the stripes correctly, keeping them vertical, use a universal 80/12 or 90/14 needle with polyester thread, iron inside out with a cloth to avoid shine, finish the insides with overlocking or overcasting and always do a test run to adjust the stitch (2.5–3 mm).
Care advice: gentle wash or dry cleaning is recommended if the garment is structured, avoiding high temperatures and always testing the ironing on a scrap piece of fabric.
