Terracotta Brown Velvet Dot

The terracotta brown velvet knit fabric is a soft, stretchy knitted fabric with an elegant velvety surface in plain terracotta brown and a plain finish on the reverse. Its warm tone combines shades of brown, reddish hues and clay tones, which are enhanced by the characteristic sheen of velvet, creating a sophisticated colour full of character.

Its composition of 92% polyester and 8% elastane provides stretch, comfort and freedom of movement. With a weight of 280 gsm, it has good body and offers a pleasant feeling of warmth, whilst retaining a fluid and flattering drape.

With a width of 150 cm, this terracotta brown velvet knit fabric is perfect for making up dresses, skirts, jumpers, jackets, trousers, leggings and pyjamas. Its warm, earthy colour is particularly appealing for autumn and winter garments and pairs easily with shades of unbleached ecru, beige, camel, green, black or navy blue.

It is OEKO-TEX certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Product Class I, which guarantees that the fabric is free from harmful substances.

Suggested uses: drapey dresses, skirts, trousers, leggings, jumpers, sweatshirts, light jackets, pyjamas and garments for special occasions.

Sewing tip: use a stretch needle or jersey needle 75/11–80/12 and a stretch stitch or narrow zigzag stitch. Before cutting, lay out all the pattern pieces ensuring the pile of the velvet runs in the same direction, as changing the direction of the pile also visually alters the intensity and sheen of the colour.
