Unbleached Velvet Knit

The unbleached velvet knit fabric is a soft, elastic knit with an elegant velvety surface in a plain unbleached colour and a plain finish on the reverse. Its light, warm and natural shade enhances the delicate sheen of the velvet and lends an elegant, timeless look to garments made from it.

Its composition of 92% polyester and 8% elastane provides stretch, comfort and excellent freedom of movement. With a weight of 280 gsm, it offers body and a pleasant warmth, whilst maintaining a fluid and flattering fluid drape.

With a width of 150 cm, this unbleached velvet knit fabric is perfect for making up dresses, skirts, jumpers, jackets, trousers, leggings and pyjamas. Its neutral colour is very easy to coordinate and is ideal for creating elegant autumn and winter garments, comfortable outfits and designs for special occasions.

It is OEKO-TEX certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Product Class I, which guarantees that the fabric is free from harmful substances.

Suggested uses: drapey dresses, skirts, trousers, leggings, jumpers, sweatshirts, lightweight jackets, pyjamas and special-occasion garments.

Sewing tip: use a stretch needle or jersey needle 75/11–80/12 and a stretch stitch or narrow zigzag stitch. Avoid stretching the fabric whilst sewing and cut all pieces in the same direction as the velvet pile to achieve a uniform colour and sheen throughout the garment.
