HOW MANY METERS OF FABRIC DO I NEED?
DETAILS
The Alpujarra Striped Brocade Fabric in Mustard, Brown and Black stands out for its warm combination of shades of mustard, brown, black, beige and grey, arranged in an elaborate striped design featuring different wefts and small geometric motifs. Inspired by the traditional textiles of the Alpujarra region, its pattern combines a distinctively handcrafted and ethnic print with a range of warm, natural earth tones.
With an extra width of 280 cm, this jacquard brocade fabric allows for the making up of large-format pieces whilst minimising the number of joins and sewing. Its composition of 45% polyester, 27% cotton and 28% polyamide provides strength, stability and good body, making it suitable for both clothing and decorative projects.
The combination of mustard, brown and black enhances the different weaves and textures of the stripes, creating a fabric with visual depth and a distinct handcrafted character. It is a particularly interesting choice to make up regional costumes, traditional clothing, folk dresses, the Three Kings’ processions, carnival, theatre and shows, as well as decorative projects with a rustic or ethnic print.
Ideas for use: regional costumes, traditional clothing, theatre, carnival, parades, stage sets, cushions, drapes, lightweight upholstery, props and decorative projects.
Sewing tip: use a universal needle 90/14 or 100/16 and good-quality polyester thread. As this is a brocade fabric with different weaves, we recommend overcasting or overlocking the edges after cutting to prevent fraying. When cutting garments or decorative pieces, always keep the stripes running in the same direction to achieve a uniform visual finish.
