Alpujarreña Stripes Brocade – Mustard and Black

The Alpujarra Striped Brocade Fabric in Mustard and Black stands out for its original combination of shades of mustard, black, unbleached, grey and earth tones, arranged in an elaborate design of stripes and small geometric motifs. Inspired by the traditional textiles of the Alpujarra region, its pattern combines a distinctively handcrafted and ethnic print with the warm character of the mustard colour, creating a fabric with plenty of personality.

With an extra wide width of 280 cm, this jacquard brocade fabric allows for the making up of large-format pieces whilst reducing the number of joins and seams. Its composition of 45% polyester, 27% cotton and 28% PA provides strength, stability and good body, making it suitable for both clothing and decorative projects.

The contrast between the mustard and the black and neutral tones highlights the fabric’s different wefts and gives it an eye-catching, handcrafted look. It is a particularly interesting choice for making up regional costumes, traditional clothing, folk dresses, Three Kings parades, carnival, theatre and shows, as well as ethnic print decorative projects.

Sewing tip: use a universal needle 90/14 or 100/16 and good-quality polyester thread. As this is a brocade fabric with different weaves, we recommend overcasting or overlocking the edges after cutting to prevent fraying. When cutting garments or decorative pieces, always keep the stripes running in the same direction to achieve a uniform visual finish.
