Black Rayon Ponte Roma Top

The black rayon and elastane Roma knit fabric is a compact, elastic knitted fabric that combines body, softness and comfort. Its Ponte Roma knit structure offers greater consistency than a conventional fine knit, whilst maintaining the flexibility needed to make up comfortable garments that fit the body well.

With a composition of 65% rayon, 30% nylon and 5% elastane and a weight of 250 gsm, it is of medium weight with good drape and stability. The percentage of elastic fibre provides flexibility and aids the fabric’s recovery, a feature that is particularly practical for fitted garments or those that need to move with the body.

Its width of 160 cm allows for excellent use of the fabric in making up garments. The colour black, as well as being a highly versatile basic, is ideal for creating wardrobe staples with a clean and elegant finish.

Suggested uses: knitted trousers, dresses, skirts, knitted blazer-style jackets, high-waisted leggings, fitted garments, outfits, structured tops and other comfortable ready-to-wear items.

Sewing tip: use a stretch needle or Jersey needle 75/11 or 80/12 and a stretch stitch or narrow zigzag stitch to preserve the stretch of the seams. For hems and visible topstitching, a twin needle for knit fabrics can provide a neat and professional finish.
