Fil Tiré canvas (8 threads/cm)

The Fil Tiré canvas is the professional solution for cross-stitch embroidery on garments and fabrics where traditional canvas cannot be used. Made from 100% cotton and with a density of 8 threads per centimetre, it allows designs to be transferred accurately onto T-shirts, sweatshirts, children’s clothing, jeans, rucksacks, cushions and many other textile projects.

Inspired by the French technique of Fil Tiré or pulled thread, this canvas is temporarily placed on the garment and serves as a guide for embroidery. Once the work is complete, its threads are easily removed one by one, disappearing completely and leaving the embroidery perfectly integrated into the fabric without stiffness or visible remnants.

Its construction from high-quality 145 g/m² cotton provides the necessary stability during embroidery and, at the same time, makes it easy to remove the threads once the work is finished. The 8 threads/cm spacing offers excellent definition for letters, names, logos, small decorative motifs and detailed designs.

With a practical width of 60 cm, it is ideal for both home projects and ongoing textile personalisation work.

Advantages: easy to remove, does not damage delicate fabrics, maintains the garment’s natural elasticity, allows embroidery on virtually any fabric and provides a precise guide for cross-stitch.

Instructions: place the Fil Tiré on the garment, secure it with basting stitches, embroider following the grid and, once the work is finished, remove the horizontal and vertical threads one by one to leave only the embroidery integrated into the fabric.
