Ochre Velvet Dot

The ochre velvet knitted fabric is a soft, elastic knit with an elegant velvety surface in a plain ochre colour and a plain finish on the reverse. Its warm shade, situated between gold yellows and earthy tones, enhances the characteristic sheen of velvet and adds character to any garment.

Its composition of 92% polyester and 8% elastane provides stretch, comfort and freedom of movement. With a weight of 280 gsm, it is full-bodied and offers a pleasant feeling of warmth, whilst retaining a fluid and flattering drape.

With a width of 150 cm, this ochre velvet knit fabric is ideal for making up dresses, skirts, jumpers, jackets, trousers, leggings and pyjamas. Its warm tone is particularly appealing for autumn and winter garments and pairs beautifully with unbleached ecru, beige, browns, greens, terracotta and navy blue.

It is OEKO-TEX certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Product Class I, which guarantees that the fabric is free from harmful substances.

Suggested uses: drapey dresses, skirts, trousers, leggings, jumpers, sweatshirts, lightweight jackets, pyjamas and autumn and winter garments.

Sewing tip: use a stretch needle or Jersey needle 75/11–80/12 and a stretch stitch or narrow zigzag stitch. Avoid stretching the fabric whilst sewing and cut all sewing pattern pieces in the same direction as the velvet’s pile, as its orientation affects the perception of colour and sheen.
