HOW MANY METERS OF FABRIC DO I NEED?
DETAILS
The Omega Beige Suave faux leather for upholstery is a high-performance synthetic leather that combines exceptional tear resistance, great durability and easy maintenance with an elegant and timeless aesthetic. Its soft beige shade brings light and warmth to any space, making it an excellent choice for upholstering frequently used furniture in both the home and professional settings.
One of the most notable features of the OMEGA PU collection is its high tear-resistant nature, with values of 63.8 N in the warp and 61.9 N in the weft, according to the EN ISO 4674-1 test specified in the manufacturer’s technical data sheet. This property is particularly valuable for upholstery subjected to stress, strain and continuous use, helping to achieve durable and hard-wearing finishes.
Furthermore, it is abrasion-resistant and offers a resistance level exceeding 500,000 cycles, according to the EN ISO 5470-2 test, a particularly notable feature for sofas, armchairs, chairs, benches and seats subject to intensive use. Its high-strength flexural properties and good resistance to hydrolysis round off the performance characteristics of this high-strength faux leather upholstery fabric.
Its surface is made from 100 per cent polyurethane (PU), with a backing of 100% polyester. It has a width of 140 cm (±3%), a weight of 770 g per linear metre (±5%) and a thickness of 1.3 mm (±5%). According to the manufacturer’s information, it is produced using a solvent-free process.

Additional flame-retardant treatments are also available on request, subject to specific validation for each production run. Fire performance depends, amongst other factors, on the foam used and the final configuration of the furniture.
Suggested uses: ideal for upholstering sofas, armchairs, lounge chairs, dining chairs, stools, benches, headboards and high-traffic seating. Its soft beige tone combines particularly well with natural wood, off-white, camel, grey, olive green and black accents, allowing you to create bright, cosy and elegant interiors. Its technical specifications also make it suitable for projects in the hospitality and catering sectors, commercial spaces and professional furniture, provided the specific requirements of each application are verified.
Sewing and upholstery tip: use a needle suitable for faux leather or synthetic materials (90/14 or 100/16) and durable polyester thread, checking beforehand which combination is most appropriate depending on the number of layers. It is recommended to carry out a sewing test and to use a Teflon or dual-feed presser foot to help the material glide smoothly. Avoid unpicking repeatedly, as the needle holes may remain visible. Although it is tear-resistant, it is advisable to distribute the tension correctly and to reinforce areas subject to stress where the design requires it.
Cleaning and maintenance: remove stains, spills or dirt as soon as possible using a mild soap solution and a soft woollen cloth, using gentle circular movements. Avoid rubbing vigorously and test any cleaning product on an inconspicuous area first. When using disinfectants, check the compatibility of the specific product and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
The Omega Beige Suave faux leather is an excellent choice for those seeking a polyurethane upholstery that is very durable and tear-resistant, with over 500,000 abrasion cycles and easy maintenance, perfect for refurbishing furniture and creating bright spaces without compromising on durability.
