HOW MANY METERS OF FABRIC DO I NEED?
DETAILS
The C1 red permanent flame-retardant velvet fabric is a highly elegant technical fabric that combines the softness and depth characteristic of velvet with a flame-retardant treatment certified to standard EN 13773:2003, Class 1. Its intense red colour and velvety surface lend warmth, character and a sophisticated finish, making it ideal for professional interior design projects, stage design and contract spaces.
This 100% polyester flame-retardant velvet features an immersion flame-retardant treatment that achieves the C1 fire reaction classification as stated in the manufacturer’s technical data sheet. A particularly attractive solution for projects requiring decorative fabrics with fire safety features, always in accordance with the regulatory requirements of each installation.
With a weight of 320 gsm, it offers body, substance and a pleasant velvety texture. Its uniform cut pile finish provides a smooth and elegant surface, with attractive plays of light and shadow that enhance the intensity of the red. Thanks to its extra-wide width of 300 cm, it allows for the making up of large-format curtains and decorative elements, reducing seams, optimising fabric usage and achieving more seamless finishes.
Its combination of aesthetics and technical performance makes it a highly attractive option for theatres, auditoriums, hotels, restaurants, performance venues, commercial spaces and contract projects. The colour red is particularly well-suited to theatre curtains, stage drapery, stage decoration and special events, lending a classic and distinguished aesthetic reminiscent of traditional theatres and performance venues.
Technical characteristics: 100% polyester; usable width 300 cm; weight (gsm) 320 (tolerance ±5%); flame-retardant treatment by immersion; fire reaction classification EN 13773:2003 Class 1 (C1); velvety finish with uniform pile.
Suggested uses: flame-retardant curtains, large-format drapery, decorative curtains, theatre set design, stage backdrops, event decoration, decorative textile coverings, hotels, restaurants, auditoriums and contract interior design projects. For upholstery applications, check the specific fire resistance and reaction requirements for the intended use beforehand.
Sewing advice: use a 90/14 universal needle and carry out a test on a remnant first. Cut all pieces following the same pile direction to maintain a uniform colour tone and avoid differences in sheen. For large-format curtains and drapes, take the weight of the fabric into account and use suitable hanging systems. Avoid ironing directly onto the velvety surface.
Care and maintenance: follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions to preserve the finish and flame-retardant properties. Avoid bleach, unauthorised chemical treatments and high temperatures. Before washing or cleaning the fabric, check that the procedure is compatible with the flame-retardant treatment and does not affect its fire reaction classification. For intense colours, it is recommended to carry out a preliminary colour fastness test by rubbing.
