Glenmore Wool Loden in Blue and Terracotta Checks

The Glenmore Wool Loden fabric is an elegant and versatile winter fabric, featuring an attractive check pattern in shades of greyish blue, brick red, camel and brown. Its colour combination blends cool and warm tones, creating a balanced look that is very easy to wear throughout the autumn and winter seasons.

With a width of 150 cm and a composition of 70% wool and 30% polyester, it offers the warmth and characteristic look of wool alongside the durability and stability provided by polyester. It is a relatively fine winter fabric compared to other thicker wools and tweeds, allowing for the making up of warm garments without adding excessive bulk.

The fabric features two sides with different finishes: one offers a softer, more pleasant surface, whilst the reverse side shows the fabric’s structure and yarn more clearly. This feature allows you to choose the most suitable finish depending on the design and even to play with both sides in certain details of the garment.

Its classic checked pattern and lighter weight make it an excellent choice for making up lightweight coats, jackets, overshirts, capes, waistcoats, skirts and winter dresses, as well as fashion accessories.

Sewing tip: before cutting, decide which side of the fabric will be used as the outer side and ensure all pieces are facing the same direction. It is recommended that you always carry out a test ironing first and use a protective cloth to preserve the finish of the wool.
