Navy Blue Georgette

The navy blue georgette fabric is a lightweight, flowing and elegant fabric for fashion and dressmaking, available at a special price for the last metres in stock. Its classic navy blue shade offers sophistication and versatility, making it an excellent choice for both party and formal wear, as well as for lighter, more feminine designs.

Georgette is characterised by being a fine, lightweight fabric with a beautiful drape, giving the garment movement and an airy look. This fabric becomes slightly sheer when held up to the light, so depending on the design, it can be used with a lining fabric or its slight transparency can be utilised to create sleeves, capes and layers.

Made from 100% polyester and with a width of 150 cm, this fabric is particularly well-suited to making fluid dresses, blouses, skirts, tunics, ethereal sleeves, capes and formal wear. Its lightness also makes it ideal for creating gathers, ruffles and multi-layered designs without adding excessive weight to the garment.

Sewing tip: due to its lightness and drape, we recommend cutting the georgette on a flat surface, ensuring the fabric does not hang down. Use a fine, new needle and carry out a test stitch and ironing on a remnant of fabric first. For garments requiring greater opacity, combine with a lightweight lining fabric that preserves the fabric’s drape.
