Needlecord Cotton Cognac

The Cognac Cotton Needlecord fabric is a fine needlecord made from 100% cotton, soft and pleasant to the touch, perfect for making up comfortable garments with a beautiful velvety finish. Its cognac colour, a warm brown with caramel and slightly orange undertones, is reminiscent of leather tones and offers a natural, elegant style that is very easy to coordinate.

Its very fine rib knit creates a subtle and delicate raised texture, retaining the characteristic corduroy texture whilst offering a lighter and more refined appearance. With a weight of 145 gsm, this needlecord offers a lightweight structure, good opacity and a particularly pleasant handle, making it an excellent choice for children's clothing and mid-season garments.

It is made from 100% cotton fabric and has a width of 140 cm. Its softness and lightness allow you to make up comfortable garments, whilst the fine texture of the corduroy adds body and a neat finish.

Suggested uses: children’s dresses, rompers, dungarees, trousers, skirts, blouses, shirts, lightweight jackets, baby clothes and sewing accessories.

The cognac shade pairs particularly well with unbleached, beige, browns, olive green, petrol blue, navy blue or floral-inspired prints. You can also combine this needlecord with printed cotton fabrics, lace trims, trimmings, pom-pom trims or wooden buttons to create garments with a highly personalised finish.

Sewing tip: as this is a 100% cotton fabric, we recommend washing the fabric before cutting and making up to allow for the cotton’s natural shrinkage. When cutting, lay out all the pieces so that the pile and rib knit run in the same direction to avoid any visual differences in shade in the finished garment.
