Dark Red Cotton Needlecord

The Dark Red Cotton Needlecord Fabric is a fine needlecord made from 100% cotton, soft and pleasant to the touch, perfect for making up comfortable garments with a velvety and elegant finish. Its dark red colour adds depth and character, making it ideal for children’s clothing and designs inspired by both classic and contemporary styles.

Its very fine rib knit creates a subtle and delicate raised texture, retaining the characteristic corduroy feel but with a lightweight and more refined appearance. With a weight of 145 gsm, this needlecord offers a lightweight structure, good opacity and a particularly pleasant handle, making it excellent for children's clothing and mid-season garments.

It is made from 100% cotton fabric and has a width of 140 cm. Its combination of softness, lightness and texture allows you to make up comfortable garments without compromising on the body and characteristic look of corduroy.

Suggested uses: children’s dresses, rompers, dungarees, trousers, skirts, blouses, shirts, lightweight jackets, baby clothes and sewing accessories.The dark red pairs particularly well with unbleached, beige, camel, grey, navy blue or bottle green shades. You can also combine this needlecord with printed cotton fabrics, checks, florals, lace trims, trimmings, pom-poms or decorative buttons to create unique and personalised garments.

Sewing tip: as this is a 100% cotton fabric, we recommend washing the fabric before cutting and making it up to allow for the cotton’s natural shrinkage. When cutting, lay out all the pieces so that the pile and rib knit run in the same direction to avoid visual differences in shade in the finished garment.
