Terracotta-effect stretch corduroy with washed effect

The Stretch Corduroy with Terracotta Washed Effect is a full-bodied, soft and durable corduroy, perfect for making up comfortable garments with a contemporary style and plenty of personality. Its terracotta colour, warm and natural, combines reddish and earthy tones which, together with the washed effect, create a slightly distressed, casual finish with an attractive vintage feel.

This corduroy stands out for its characteristic ribbed texture and soft, velvety surface, which adds depth and dimension to the fabric. Its weight of 282 gsm gives it a medium-to-heavy weight, ideal for garments that require structure without being overly stiff.

Its composition of 98% cotton and 2% elastane combines the pleasant feel of cotton with slight stretch across the fabric width, providing greater comfort and freedom of movement. It has a fabric width of 140 cm and is an excellent choice for both adult and children’s clothing.

Suggested uses: corduroy trousers, skirts, jackets, overshirts, dungarees, dresses, waistcoats and children’s garments.

The washed effect terracotta pairs particularly well with unbleached, sand, beige, camel, brown, olive green, petrol blue or denim. It’s perfect for creating statement pieces inspired by nature, boho, casual, urban or vintage styles.

Sewing tip: we recommend washing the fabric before cutting to allow for the cotton’s natural shrinkage. As this is a corduroy with a pile and rib knit, lay all pattern pieces in the same direction to maintain a uniform look and shade. Iron preferably on the reverse side and without applying too much pressure to avoid flattening the corduroy’s raised texture.
