Brown Washed-Effect Corduroy

The Brown Washed-Effect Cordelé Corduroy is a warm, timeless and highly versatile fashion fabric, perfect for making up comfortable garments with a distinctly casual and slightly retro style. Its brown colour enhances the texture of the corduroy and makes this fabric an easy-to-match basic season after season.

It features a fine rib knit of approximately 2 mm, formed by closely spaced vertical lines that add texture and give it the characteristic look of cordelé corduroy. Its surface is soft, slightly velvety and with a subtle sheen, whilst the washed effect provides a slightly distressed and contemporary finish.

Its composition of 85% polyester, 12% polyamide and 3% elastane provides a pleasant handle, good drape and slight crosswise stretch, offering comfort and freedom of movement. Furthermore, it has a width of 150 cm, ideal for making the most of the fabric in all kinds of garment-making projects.

The brown pairs particularly well with shades of unbleached ecru, beige, camel, mustard, olive green, terracotta, blue or denim. It is perfect for creating wardrobe staples and designs inspired by nature, urban styles or vintage aesthetics.

Ideas for use: trousers, jackets, overshirts, skirts, dresses, dungarees, jumpsuits, waistcoats and fashion accessories.

Sewing tip: cut all pieces following the same direction of the pile and rib knit to maintain a uniform look and tone in the garment. You can use a universal or stretch needle of 80/12 or 90/14 and should preferably iron it on reverse, without applying too much pressure to avoid flattening the corduroy’s raised texture.
