Waterproof Cotton-Polyurethane Protective Fabric – Width 202 cm

The 100% cotton plain-weave mattress protector fabric with polyurethane lamination is a technical fabric designed to offer waterproof and breathable protection, whilst maintaining the comfort and softness of cotton. Its white finish makes it an ideal choice for manufacturing mattress protectors, covers and other textile hygiene items.

Its structure consists of a 100% cotton knitted base fabric weighing 100 g/m² bonded to a 25 g/m² polyurethane film, resulting in a total weight of 125 g/m². This combination creates an effective barrier against liquids without impeding air circulation, resulting in a fabric that is 100% waterproof, breathable, silent and does not trap heat.

With a width of 202 cm, it is perfect for making mattress protectors and covers in various sizes, making the most of the fabric and minimising seams.

Suggested uses: mattress protectors, waterproof covers, baby changing mats, reusable cloth nappies, washable sanitary towels, absorbent pads, cot protectors and other hygiene and childcare items.

Sewing tip: when making mattress protectors, we recommend sewing the sides with an adjustable stretch knit strip to ensure a perfect fit around the mattress. Use a ball-point needle 75/11 or 80/12, avoid making unnecessary holes in the waterproof layer and iron only on the cotton side at a low temperature.
