White Mikado Satin

The white Mikado satin fabric is an elegant, sturdy and full-bodied fabric, particularly suitable for fashion, formal wear and bridal wear. Its surface has a shiny, sophisticated finish that enhances the brightness of the white colour and may show slight variations in shade depending on the angle of the light and the movement of the fabric.

Made up of 58% acetate and 42% polyester, it offers a refined appearance inspired by natural silk fabric and a firm structure that helps maintain the garment’s volume and shape. Both sides have a very similar white hue, providing an elegant and uniform finish.

Its width of 150 cm allows for efficient use in garment-making projects. Thanks to its body and stability, it is particularly well-suited to structured sewing patterns, voluminous skirts, pleats, gathers and garments where a well-defined silhouette is desired.

Suggested uses: wedding dresses, party and formal dresses, pleated or voluminous skirts, structured jackets, bodices, cocktail dresses and fashion accessories.

Sewing tip: use a Microtex 70/10 or 80/12 needle and carry out stitch and ironing tests on a remnant of fabric beforehand. Avoid unpicking unnecessarily to prevent marks, and use a cool iron on the reverse side of the fabric to help preserve its sheen and finish.Care instructions: professional dry cleaning is recommended. Do not wash, do not bleach or tumble dry. Iron at a low temperature, preferably on the reverse and with a protective woollen cloth. Always carry out a test on a remnant of fabric first.
